Accessible Ramp

 Universal Design

At the nearest convenience store to my house, there is an accessibility ramp. The ramp has a railing to help with stability, a gradual incline, and is very wide. Even with the pallet jack in the middle of the path, there is plenty of room to go around — and the equipment was only there for a brief period. The ramp allows for a variety of people to enter the store: wheelchair users, people with strollers or walkers, and deliverymen, to name a few. This ramp is a shining example of a universal accessibility design because people from many different mobility ranges can use it.
